Default suzuki interface cable

I have a 2007 DF90 and the suzuki EP20 cable. Instructions say to hook up large round connector to the engine. There is no large round connector to hook to. I found the trim connector. The only connectors are the square one going to console and a black square one on the lower rear left of motor. It has a cap on it and when I removed it, it looks like jumpered across inside. Need help on this. I am wanting to hook up LMS 520c to motor

Port side above the electronics box, next to to the starter. Round with a black rubber cap.

The only connector outside of the box on top next to starter is a small square 4 wire plug with a rubber cap on it that attaches to box at the upper left corner. The cable I have has a trim connector and a 1 inch diameter male plug with 7 prongs in it. The Lowrance part # is 120-06. Is it possible that they sent the wrong cable? The box says for DF40 thru DF 300(adapter required)

hmmm, I am perplexed. All the Suzuki engines have a plug on the outside of the electronics box, that is held to the e-box via a rubber mount. I think the plug is normally used for engine diagnostics. Ask your Suzuki dealer where he would plug into your engine for diagnostics. That is likely the plug you need to connect to. There is only 1 part number for EP-20's for Suzuki, so assuming you have a Suzuki you have the right part number.

Jim -Suzuki in Japan just changed the engine interface connector for 2008 - Suzuki in U.S. is scrambling to get adapters made and brought to market. So, hooking a 2008 engine into a MicroC NMEA 2000 network will take one interface harness and two adapters !!

I saw your other post about that. Nothing like spending more money in adapters than the part is worth . The gent above has a 2007 engine though.

He PM'd me and I had him check his serial number and it's actually an '08 model. I just got an '08 engine on Monday and that's the first thing I noticed when we took the hood off, so I was aware of the problem. I'm sure the next generation EP20 will not need any adapters. The upside of the new system is that if you are using all digital gauges, you will not need to run any cabling from the engine. What you will do is disconnect the monitor plug from the engine harness, connect the diagnostic plug and connect the EP20 to the monitor plug at the dash. However, if you want to run both the analog monitor/tach and the NMEA 2000, you will still have to run a N2K backbone to the stern and the EP20 through to the engine.

Part # for cable from Lowrance is 120-55. Due in about 3 to 4 weeks. This is ONLY for 2008 year models.
