Jim, I now have a 365 Apelco thru hull that is acting up. I am looking at the Raytheon ds500x thru hull, but before I purchase I'd like your input on what would be my best buy for shallow water.

Beaufort(SC) has a great deal of shallow water and my best blue and Spanish Mackerel trolling is in 3-8 feet around off shore bars. The deepest I go is 90' at a reef about 20 miles off shore.

You might check out some of the single frequency units from Lowrance, they do great in shallow water. http://www.lowrance.com/Products/Mar..._sonarfull.asp
