Default New Electronics Package

Jim
Hopefully you can shed some light for me. I posted in Marine electronics and am getting a few hits, and was referred here. This is what I want:

LCX-28 HD Dual freq and GPS
LMF-400
prolly a 15' extension from front to back
Power Drop
STBD fuel level
Fuel flow
PORT fuel level
maybe a speed sensor.

Does the power drop run everything? or do I need a seperate power source to the unit?
What do I need to convert the red system(28 HD and gps??) to blue system?
When do you think you'd have a 28 HD available?

Any light you can shed on the subject or further information would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
Sean

Hi Sean, the power is included with the LMF-400/EP-10 package. The extension is also included. You will need 2 EP-15 fuel level sensors and the speed sensor only. To convert to the red LCX-28 we can send you an adapter connector. LCX-28's should be available at some point this month (how's that for vague ) We keep an eye on supply to make sure out customers get units as soon as they are available.

Thanks for the reply. There is an 15' extention and a power drop with the LMF-400?? If I use the power drop do I need to power the head unit or the GPS seperately? Do I really need the speed sensor? or will the GPS module provide speed information? Again, sure appreciate your help. This has been nothing but a headache trying to get this done. Sure doesn't seem like they do a very good job of providing support for their new equipment.

You do not need the speed sensor, the gps will do it. What you will do is set up the LMF-400 and network first, then start plugging T's into that backbone. The gps antenna and lcx-28 would both be T'd in.

Alright...I think I've finally almost got this one figured out. Last thing I'm confused on. Do I need to power the GPS, Head unit, and network seperately? or do they all feed off the network power drop?

You need power to the Head Unit seperately. Everything else will run off the NMEA2000 backbone. I just sent out your package. You have everything you need to get the blue network up and running. Once the LCX-28 ships you will connect to it using the adpater connector I will send along with the 2' extension cable. You can call me while you are doing it to explain. Just wanted to let you know you could get the LMF and EP stuff up and running now.
