Fuel usage meter for Volvo 4.3 GXi. - The Hull Truth

Just fitted a brand new volvo, I would like to know if there is a fuel usage meter that could be plugged into the EVC harness to monitor fuel usage. I have the standard Instrument panel fitted which dosn't show fuel used and the electronic multi function gauge costs a fortune. I currently have a navman in line sender but it is way off, and prefer not to go that way again.

I am not sure if Volvo is nmea2000 compliant or not. I think they are. If so you will need a harness to couple the engine ecu to a nmea2000 network. This will be a Volvo p/n. Then you can get a device like a Lowrance LMF400 to display engine diagnostics and fuel flow.

Yes the volvo is nmea 2000 compliant. I can get a harness from Volvo P#3840277. Will this plug straight into the LMF 400 and show diagnostics fuel etc, or do I need other elecs to make it work.

It will plug into a LMF400. I'm not sure what the Volvo connector looks like but if it is truly nmea2000 the wire colors should match, so you could easily splice the right plug on. You can have the Volvo part shipped to me, I can set it up and ship it off to you if you want with the LMF400.
