Looking for GPS cable for Lowrance LMS-160 - The Hull Truth

I just bought a used boat that has a Lowrance LMS-160 and the GPS cable that plugs into the back of the module is damaged, The seller said that he attempted to find a cable end and was told you could not get a cable end,
Question I have is can a new cable be purchased and spliced or would I have to buy a complete new module?

I'm not sure which GPS antenna shipped with that unit. You should contact lowrance directly to find out which connector you need. Once you have the right connector I see no reason why you can't splice it.

Thanks jim, I will do that. Will I be able to buy from lowrance or from another source like you? The book says I have a GlobalMap 1600, not sure if that means anything?

Same deal as the 160. You can get it directly from Lowrance. If they tell you to go to a dealer then that is us. Just get me the Lowrance p/n.

There are new replacement GPS antennas available on ebay for your Lowrance LMS-160 Map unit. I have used the same LMS-160 unit for years. The Antenna cable finally broke down at the plug end this spring. I found and ordered a new antenna on ebay. These are not OEM but aftermarket antennas made by Gilson Technologies and sold through Fisher GPS Accessories on ebay. They have 2 styles. The $24.99 model is the one I bought because it has the mounting holes to allow permanant mounting on a boat or aircraft. The newer "3rd" generation is listed at $21.99 but does not have mounting holes. It is meant for application in a car or truck as it only has a built in magnet for attachment. Good Luck.
