Default navnet2 sounder?

My question is when the new adjustable power sonar module comes out this fall will you be able to pull out your bbff1 module and stick in this new module? Or will you have to replace your whole navnet system?

Ummm......haven't seen this yet. I doubt you would need to change out your system to use a new network device though. I know there has been talk of designing systems around the broadband ducers like the B260 where you can tune the kHz but haven't heard of adjusting power. Do you have a link to this vaporware?

Doesn't the BBFF1 have a switch inside to choose 600 or 1000?

I was at a local boat show over the weekend. A vendor there said his furuno rep told him that the 585 sounder would be available for navnet around Sept. This vendor described the module as being able to adjust actual power vs filtering with gain. I want to install electronics now. In the future I may want to switch out the sonar to this new module and I was trying to make sure it would work with navnet2 versus having to replace everything.

The BBFF1 does have an internal jumper to select 600W vs 1kW.

Thanks for the info on the filtering. Haven't heard of it yet but anything is possible I guess.
