Cutting Radar Cable - The Hull Truth

Jim,

I am installing a Lowrance LCX-111 and the LRA 2000. Is it ok cut the radar cable to a shorter length? I only need about a 10 ft length. Thanks,

I know many people cut the successfully but I would avoid it if possible. I am not the one to dish out advice on cutting your radar cable, you might contact Lowrance to see if they have any advice.

Thanks, I contacted their customer service today when they were open (I was hoping you would answer over the weekend). They said to NOT cut the cable.

I initially thought you were trying to cut it because there was no way you could get it through a run or something, but if it is simply to shorten the cable I definitely agree...don't cut it.
