Default Using MARPA on Raymarine RL70CRC

Raymarine recommends that their heading sensor be used in conjunction with my Radar in order for MARPA to be most reliable.

Does anyone know if the heading data from a RayStar 175 would suffice?

I don't have room for their heading sensor/course computer.

Thanks.

I've never heard of a Raystar 175. If you mean Raystar 125, the answer is no.

Get yourself a KVH autcomp 1000 heading sensor for about $300. It's the size of a coffee can and can be installed basically anywhere in the hull at around the water line away from any other magnetics.
