Default Garmin and xm weather

I'm getting ready to outfit a new boat, and am trying to decide between the garmin 2206 and the 3206. The 3206 can be set up with xm weather, does anybody have any experince with this? is it worth the extra$$.

Don't leave the dock without the XM functionality it's worth every penny....... Glen hit the nail on the head go with the 3206 no doubt.

Here's 2 pictures the 1st is my Garmin 376c with XM Weather functioanlity. The 2nd is a shot of my 2206 and the new G2 Cartography. I use my 376c in conjuction with my 2206.

It's the kind of service that you don't realize you need until you have it. Get it, you won't regret it.

Get the $50.00 a month package for the weather. $600 per year is worth it compared to all the other costs of boating. I only wish there was a way to get the same info on my computer at home before heading out. Today it was raining hard enough here at home that the DTV was out, yet it was bright and sunny a few miles East at the marina. I know I can see some weather radar on the net but nothing that is free compares to what you get with XM.

Anyone have the less expensive package?

I have the fisherman package with my Garmin 478 and it does everything that I need. XM weather is the best thing to come along to promote boating safety in a long time. I live in south Florida an put the 478 in my car and drove up to Canada to do some walleye fishing and the weather for the drive up was so accurate. Everytime it tuned light green the rain would start. Can't live without it now.
