Default NEMA buffer

Does anyone know where I can purchase one and about how much they cost?

TIA

Joe

I have a problem between my Raymarine E80 and Mercury Smartcraft display. I notice that periodically my GPS speed on the smartcraft display approximately doubles what is shown on the E80. I've tried terminating the NMEA connection to the smartcraft or not, neither seems to matter. I also notice the time display on the smartcraft sc5000 has a similiar problem, both pieces of information get to the Smartcraft system by way of the E80's NMEA buss.

I was thinking that if I buffered the NMEA signal, that might help.

Unfortunately, NMEA buffers don't seem to be available from US sources?

Thanks

Joe

Check out the description of a multiplexer. It describes one of the functions to be buffering the data

http://www.shipmodul.com/en/multiplexer.html

Here are a couple of multiplexers & expanders

Now I know why Verados are (seem) so fast

I purchased the Norland Engineering XS25 because I have twin C80 and wanted redundant outputs to the NMEA "listeners". They are made in Florida and can be purchased through a number of retailers. It sounds more like you need to setup your Smartcraft to use the GPS input instead of the pitot pickup. Smartcraft isn't auto-sensing and I don't remember which setup mode it's in (CAL 1 or CAL 2) but most like that will cure the problem. There's a step by step in the owner's tips at www.veradoclub.com.
