Default Fish Finder; Repair or Get New?

I've got a older Apelco model that came on my boat. It has worked fine so far. This weekend one of the prongs that goes into the power plug broke off. I called Raytheon but after 15 min. on hold I gave up. Can I get just the unit without the transducer, can I get this one repaired, or should I get a new (probably better) unit? (I hate to run new wires for a new transducer.)
Thanks for any replies.
David
P.S. If new any suggestions on an affordable, quality unit?

What model is the Apelco? I've got some laying around.

Bob,
It's a L365. I know it's not top of the line but I'm familiar with it.
Thanks,
David

A friend had the same problem-you can replace the end. I think it cost him 50 or 75

I have the l365 and broke a power pin. I sent it in and they repaired it for free, I just paid shipping there. It was out of warranty also. The pin broke cause I was having a problem with it shutting itself off and was constantly unplugging and plugging back it to get it back up. I still had that problem when I got it back and called them again. The guy told me when a pin breaks, they replace the whole main board and sent me a new power cord because that was all that was left to replace. It worked and has for the past 6 months.

Brackish Bob & Barryrod,
Thanks for the replies. I think I'll just send it off and see what happens. It's good to know there are folks out there willing to help. Thanks again.
David
