You know, its refreshing to see someone who appreciates the importance of high quality communications equipment on their boat. I think you made fine choices. Mine would have been slightly different but that is just a matter of preference. You have done well, very well indeed. I am particularly please with your choice of the very best 8' antenna made.

Thanks Thom

The antenna was about $140 at Concord Marine in Fort Lauderdale. I couldnt find anyone closer who had it in stock and didnt have time to order online to get a cheaper price (gotta take them to bluewater this weekend).

I don't know what their prices are but I do know that consumer Marine electronics and Defender Marine both carry Digital's antennas.

WOW what a good deal. I shopped around for everything else and will continue to do so, it was just that I need to have everything together to give to the manufacturer on saturday and as of yesterday I still had no antenna.

Cooper,

Very nice, good stuff. I have an e-trex for backup as well. Recently got a handful of them from my employer (don't ask, but its legit ) and gave a few away, everyone I gave 'em to likes the package. Nothing fancy, but just what you need for backup. Cool color too

No, I actually bought it a year ago from somebody on the forum. It was bought new, used for a few months, then taken off the boat. I paid $2500, including shipping and an awesome airmar transducer.

I'm aging. You know how it goes, we've all see nit to many times. The vigor of youth has moved on. A guy starts to get older and as he does he weakens. His willingness to speak the unpopular truth and confront evil diminishs, his willingness to accept what he sees and go with the crowd increases. What can my old tired sadass say?
