Re: GPS antenna too close to VHF antenna? There is a nice diagram in the Consumers Marine Electronics catalog showing "Antenna Mounting Guidelines". It does show 1 meter spacing between the VHF and the GPS antennas.
I think the concern is that the GPS signal could be compromised when transmitting on the VHF.
If you cannot maintan the 1 m spacing, it may be possible to mount the GPS antenna lower than the radiating portion of the VHF antenna.
Mine are within inches of each other, but the GPS is flush mounted in the hardtop so there is no interference |
