Garmin 182 help with Tracks and Routes I have an older Garmin 182, and am embarrassed that I don't know its operation as well as I should. In fact, I have a Furuno GP35 also installed, that I haven't removed yet, 'cause I like it so well. Super-simple.
Anyway, here's what I'm trying to do, and I'd appreciate any insight, or a simple "how-to."
On the map display of the unit, I see lots and lots of dotted lines following the path of my boat, where I've been, etc.
I assume these are called "tracks?" What I'd like to do is take ONE track, and convert it to a route. For example, if I navigate a tricky inlet, I'd like to save that track to a route, so that I can pull it up and follow it exactly. Is this possible?
I understand a route is made up of waypoints -- how many waypoints are assigned to the track? There might be a lot of turns in a small amount of space, and I'd want to make sure I get all of them.... TIA |
