Default Spec my JL Amp...

I am looking for recommendation on specification for AMP for a system that I'm putting together.

The system will be as follows:

Forward Bow - (2) 7.7"
Midship - (2) 6.5"
Rear - (2) 8.8"

Subs in the midship - (2) 10"

JL will be the product that I am going with. I just want thoughts on what size and or quantities to get the most out of the system.

Thank you in advance.

Pilot,
The quick and simple answer could be JL Audio MHD900/5 + M200/2 or JL Audio M1000/5 + M600/6.
It's definitely a job for two amplifier chassis. But that is only a rough recommendation without having far more details about the system objectives, like if the primary focus is listening at the helm with all speakers audible at that location, or whole boat distribution, or if some speakers are relegated to zones, etc. Considering speaker location details is also very important in an amplifier(s) selection. For example, doubling/halving the wattage makes a +/- 3 dB difference, where as doubling/halving the distance makes a far greater +/- 6 dB difference, and orientation can even have a more profound difference in the power demands. Again, the above recommendation is based on the simplest criteria.

David,

The goal is really whole boat distribution. More than likely the M series will be the choice for amps, so likely the M1000 and M600 will be to route I'll take. I have to work with a realistic budget so the MHD is a bit out of reach. I currently have a M600/6 that was powering a much lesser system any way.

So going the route of the M1000/5 and M600/6 would you power the 8.8" and the subs on the M1000 and everything else on the M600/6?

Think I'm doing the same exact setup on my new Tidewater 2500 expect instead of 7.7 up front will go with 8.8. Same amps also. If you change anything let me know.

Trying to get installed the first week of April.

Also getting the wireless remote and the wired remote installed near the back of the boat so while we are at the sand bar, we can control the volume from the water. Going to add the Garmin SiriusXM weather antenna and a switch so if I accidentally drain my starter and accessory battery I can tap into my trolling motor batteries to start the engine.
