Default Water Temp Transom Transducer or thruhull transducer

Need some help....which should I install. I will be using the sensor for thermal breaks off shore up in the northeast. The question is transom mounted ducer or a thru hull ducer? Thanks in advance...

what boat and what fishfinder do you have, a airmar p66 in a transome mount or the airmar tilted element are both good

I have a 28cc southport with a 260 airmar inhull transducer...my installer says I should use a thruhull but I don't want to put a hole in the hull

Airmar precision temp, thru hull T42 or similar model, if your unit takes the smart sensor. It is lo profile, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with a properly installed through hull.

Here we go again. Nothing wrong with a properly installed transducer, thru the hull. It will not depreciate the boat. In fact, you will get better readings. But there is a shoot thru the hull, provided it's not cored. I think they're a PITA myself. Good luck, maybe the installer knows what he's talking about. Probably had unhappy customers with transom mounts (propwash) and shoot thru's (missing data). Just an opinion.
