Default Raymarine or Garmin Combo units

Looking at the Raymarine a-65 as well as the c-series units as well as the 2206 from Garmin. I do not need radar. The primary function of the unit will be navigation/chartplotting. I have a seperate ff that I am happy with. I know the 2206 is new, as well as the a65. I understand that Raymarine has a new gold plus chart with excellent cartography and was wondering has seen the new G2 Garmin charts.
Any input would be appreciated.

Default Re: Raymarine or Garmin Combo units

I looked at both units over the past week trying to decide for myself what to do. The A65's screen clarity was incredible. My problem with that unit is it can't be networked. At least for now. The new G2 maps are nice but not that big of a change from the previous maps. The birds eye view so to speak was nice but other then that I personally didn't see a huge change.

I was looking for a unit I could expand on later if needed. If I were to choose between the two you mentioned I would go with the A65 for the clarity of the screen. That statement coming from a Garmin fan. I will stick with my 276 for now and pick up a new Lowrance combo unit that can be networked.
