Default Interfacing a Furuno 1623 w/ Furuno GP30

Just bought the 1623. The GP30 came with the boat.
Could use some help on installing the 1623 and connecting it to the GP30.

Thanks.........

does the gp30 have the pin connector in the back. My 1850 furuno connected direct to 1623 using a furuno interface cable. I think it was $ 49

Yes, GP30 has a 7 pin connector.
Do I buy a 7 pin to 7 pin?
Does the 1623 then power the GP30?

You have to have separate power cables. In my set up, I had to buy the cable for the Radar and the Cable for the GPS and solder the connections as per manual. However it is possiable that Furuno does make a direct connection 7 pin to 7 pin. (Boat isn't here, so I cannot tell you exactly which wire went to which wire).

I had a 1622 configured this way and you should need a separate cable from your RADAR to the GPS if its similar. You take the two NMEA + and - wires from the GPS wire bundle and connect to the RADAR cable. I think its yellow and green on the GPS to brown and white on the RADAR, but dont take my word for it, its been a while since I did mine. You can get the cable from Consumers Marine Electronics and they should be able to tell you off the top of their head what colors get matched.
