Add another item to the wish list

I know Garmin and Raymarine are coming out or have a system that incorporates satellite radar. But I wish someone would come out with a stand alone system. Has anyone heard of such a system. I have a soft top on my boat, so no radome for me, and I don't want to spend $2000 to upgrade my currently new stuff for one of those combe systems. I'm I ask to much???? maybe, but please add it to the list.

Just to clarify on the Raymarine Sirius Weather Receiver System. It does NOT require a RADAR dome or open array scanner. The satelite antennae is about the size of a typical GPS antennae (made by Shakespear). The other piece of hardware is a "black box" (actually grey) that mounts in an out of the way location under the helm, on a bulkhead, etc.

The LIST MSRP for the SR100 - Sirius Weather Receiver System is $1000.

Works with the E Series displays.

I assume Garmin's system is similar.
