Default go7 xse pics in my alblum

i figured how to track back sonar on the card and view my log history apparently i can do side down and traditional pretty easy i had to review the log and run it on my unit and screenshot as i was looking so they are so so . im guessing some are redfish *red drum* and catfish as my boy caught a 6lb catfish . http://www.thehulltruth.com/members/...4-11-5941.html
i have the tilt at 4deg and the totalscan ducer mounted 3/4 inch down so im still adjusting i think my tilt is way too much .

anyway i will try to do a review on this unit so far i'm loving it , thanks jon at south tackle got the unit to me in 3 days no issues so ill plug them great to deal with it was my first time using them and i have to say it went very well i will buy some other stuff as i add on.

first the maps are well free and not the plat plus navionics so i expected that . the side and down scan are better than great they look like divers actually took the pics .
the garmin with the blue-chart hd card is better for mapping but the sonar never looked like this , that said i also used a b117 ducer which is the same as a p66 but in a thru hull so its to be expected . i did watch the garmin 740s as i ran around and the bottom contours looked the same the arches on the 740s were blobs or lines .
i have to run this for a good long trip to see how the maps and the sonar work in the shallows most of the runs i did were in 16-20 feet . i really love both units and for different reasons but the simrad blew me away with the down/side scan .

1 con ) the unit does NOT at this point run side down and chirp if you have a multi screen up like traditional and side down it will run them together fine as long as chirp is off if its on it switches to 83/200 and says cannot run chirp .
2 ) con this is a finger print magnet , but wait greg its a touch screen . yes i know but as you see on the forums touch screens need cleaning so its best to prepare for it bring a proper cleaning cloth like the ones for led puter screens or glasses and the solution for cleaning glasses i wont touch mine with a paper towel its to nice of a screen to scratch., thats a mini review and honestly simrad you hit a homerun for me . i think i will add the op50 remote because i love the evo2 feel but this is very close to it without the networking and buttons and i saved a few hundred to boot .

The GO7 works great with a OP50 remote. Keeps the fingers off the screen too.

Glad you got everything hooked up and running. For the money I don't think these new Go7 XSE's can be beat.

Thanks for the info on the OP50 remote, but it is $400 just so you have buttons! Really don't like the lack of buttons...

Aparently the op40 works as well its bigger than the op50 but can be found used online for 120 or less or you have to do the evo2 or lowrance ti which has a few buttons as well

I was wondering about your mounting and tilt. So far my imaging is not impressive. I need some help.

Default go 7 xse help

Anymore tips on mounting adjusting the unit. I am still having trouble with sidescan. I will ride by a dock 15 ft away in 8 ft of water and see nothing. downscan and echo seem to do pretty well.

Mine won't either. Not sure if it's normal or not but I expected a little more coverage out of it. It's the first unit I've had with side scan so I'm not an expert by any means.
