Default Is the B265ML bare wire compable with Garmin XSV

Is the Airmar B265 ML compatible with the Garmin XSV range (I have a 7410xsv). I see it in the list of transducers in the setup selection screen so I presume it is.

I presume you can get them with a Garmin 12 pin plug or pigtail? My preference would be a pigtail free wire end so I can hook up a single channel through an 8 pin plug connector (I already have this) as I currently run a GT51 that takes up the 12 pin. I presume I can get a 12 pin plug box later when I get a second 7410xsv?

I am replacing a SS264 50 kHz I use for deep drop as the 600W GT51 is almost as good as the SS264 in 800ft so I would think the B265 will be significantly better. ML allows me to run M in case the L does not work well.....I have not heard much good about the L?

A B175M would be easier but I want the two frequency option with the L for really deep stuff (+1200 ft) and I am not that happy with the flush mount transducers in choppy water as they are affected by bubbles, so keen on the performance fairing, even though it is going to be a major pain to install on a trailer boat (I plan to semi recess the tranny to limit how far the transducer and fairing protrudes.

Comments appreciated.

Regards

John

You nailed it! Wire it up using the 8 pin wire block adaptor on the single frequency.

When you wire one of the bands of the B265C-ML into the 8 pin wire block make certain you do not wire in the xid.
And then when you manually configure the sonar..select B175..& whichever band you want.

If I hook up the M band to the garmin XSV using the 8 pin plug, can I then wire the L frequency to my Furuno FCV 587 and fire 50 kHz tone through it at the same time?

Once I get the second 7410xsv I will just hook up to the xsv via a 12 pin connector properly but in the interim it would be good to do a bit of a comparison as much for interest as anything else. I love my Furuno and don't want to get rid of it until I am sure the Garmin will be better.

Cheers
