Default Airmar SB264 with SS264W and WTB SB264

Hi all,
I am in Australia and was considering installing an SS264 to go with the M260/Furuno 587 set up I currently have in place.

I am finding from the dealers I have spoken to here that the switch is not brought into Australia.

I assume the switch is still available but would need to be US sourced. Are there any dealers that want to PM me and let me know please if they can supply this.

Re the set up and performance. I have read all I can find. Is this still considered a good combined package. I mainly bottom fish in a range of depths between 6m and 120m. Mostly interested in performance around 20-80m. I mainly use 200Hz and want this to increase info available when sounding at shallower depths.
I also happen to have an old transducer hole cut in the boat (that I am happy to remove) and have sourced a near new SS264W 0° locally. I guess I am looking for a useful option to change out on the existing hole also.

Feel free to PM me if you have a switch available.

Cheers,
Darren

I have had it confirmed that these are not brought to Australia by the importer.
Any marine electronics sellers there that can help me out? I have contacted one but no replies.

Thanks.

I was hoping someone with the switchbox installed might be able to provide further info. I am still trying to source one, however have had a dealer in the US advise they did not think it was compatible with an M260/SS264W combo. They followed up with Airmar, but could not explain why.

That led me to contact Airmar technical directly. They said no I don;t thick so, but then said not sure and will get aback to me, The email never came.

The confusion comes about as Airmar literature on the SB264 specifically says it is to pair 1Kw single line transmission (which I interpret to be built in diplexer as I have) transducers and lists the M260 with the SS264. The diagrams also show exactly the same arrangement. The box itself is labelled for an M260 as one of the inputs.
Yet I am told it does not work like that?

Is there any one that can confirm they have had this install and in fact it does work exactly as per the Airmar literature?

Cheers.
