Garmin 178C

I just purchased a garmin 178C. I hooked it up and turned it on it said searching
for WAAS,after about 20 min still no change, called garmin and they said it takes sometimes 45 min to aquire it the first time. I left it on for about 2 hrs no change. I moved it away from
the house still no change. Anybody have this problem,I would appreciate any help.
