What could one expect to pay for your set up. My new used boat has non functioning outdated electronics and i'd like to do it right, but not spend too much. i dont go offshore that much, and simplicity is important to me. Thanks.

I still haven't purchased a unit yet. MY inttent was to do so at the AC boat show. My son being born trumped that! ANy how any more opinions as I want to do some thing this week. I am not so worried about seing birds as previously mentioned. The main purpose of radar will be collision avoidance.
The garmin is attractive because of the real time weather and water temps, anyone use this? Do you like it??

i have a lot of the same criteria as you do--replacing a 2006c w/a bigger screen & radar ability, and have been looking 'all winter'. i've got an older raytheon crt radar setup now, and i am not going to replace it until at least next year, so i am going to see if garmin comes out with a 2nd generation of radomes. after all my research, i think i'm probably going to give something up in terms of radar when compared to furuno or ray, but in the end, it came down to value for me. i just bought a 3010c from a national retailer for short money. they are apparently clearing them out before the new 3210 shows up. pm me if you're interested in where i got it & what i paid. (i don't want to step on any toes)

I looked at em in Miami 2 days ago. Raymarine will also have satellite weather soon (sirius) with the E series. I like the eseries and that is what my outydated electronics are on the used boaat I bought but it seems like it would be substantially less to go Garmin

Guys I still haven't pulled the trigger. I was told to wait for the Garmin 3210. Any input? I also have now heard the raymarine is putting out a new radome. How much better will this be? Any input.

The new dome is even better than the old one. The Sirius weather module is due in a month for the Raymarine. Starting soon, there will be a rebate on the C series I hear. Glad to hear that the new one is fine. I missed you at the AC show but you had a great reason .
