Raymarine C120 to & from Maxsea

My Raymarine C120 install is just about done and I've had the NMEA in and out wired via an adapter to a USB plug (Raymarine suppled so it should be the real deal) for connecting to a laptop which has no RS232 connector.

Any tips about getting it to talk to Maxsea v10.*.*? (The old laptop doesn't have enough grunt to run V12). I'm planning on getting Maxsea's PBG running and don't anticipate too much problem there once I've got all the COM port stuff sorted. How about exporting waypoints from SST charts georeferenced with Global Mapper into the C120?

Input from anyone who has done this or any other 'traps for young players' would be much appreciated.

It's looks like it's possible to use the upload / download feature to transfer marks and waypoints to the GPS. My guess is that you would want to interdept the NMEA WPT sentence and have this create a waypoint on the C120 and Maxsea at the same time. I'm not sure if the C120 outputs the sentence. Maybe some of the Raymarine users might know.
