Default Standard Horizon Rebate problem

I purchased a SH GX-2150 that was supposed to have a $50.00 rebate. My wife mailed in all the stuff they required a couple months ago, this morning I got a email that I wasn't going to get the rebate, the reason given was that I hadn't purchased the item. Anyone else have a problem getting your rebate, if so were you able to get it resolved to your satisfaction? Maybe a pic of it mounted on my helm might be the proof they require.

If they are questioning whether or not the unit was purchased, why not just scan and send them a copy of the receipt?

Honestly, I have given up on all these mail in rebates… I've done them multiple times… Never got the rebate… IMHO, it's a racket!...

I always make copies of all the required paperwork and use certified mail. Sounds like they didn't receive the receipt or a pop usually cut from the box.

It was a email that I couldn't respond to from the fulfillment company, I'am going to contact SH and see if I can get get it straightened out, I still have the receipt she sent them a copy, but it's coming up on the deadline & they waited till now to send the email.

If there was no return contact info from the fulfillment Co. I would say that you are on the right track with contacting SH and voicing your rebate concerns.

Always make copies of everything.

I had issues with the Lowrance rebates when I bought my HDS7 and HDS5X.

On one they "lost" the UPC they required, on the other they "lost" everything.

I was able to get the one rebate by scanning and e-mailing my copy. The other one I was SOL on because I never made copies.

$100 lesson learned......

You have to be really careful in reading the requirements of the rebate - miss one item and they will reject it.

Thanks for the heads up, I just purchased a SH radio yesterday, I'll make sure to make copies before I send it all it. Good luck with the rebate.

I've always received my SH rebates. Fantastic customer service from this company. If you're entitled to a rebate, they'll make sure you get it.

That's just the "company line"… You send in the stuff… Copies are not acceptable… They decide whether you're eligible for the rebate… They have the incentive to deny the rebate and they know that you're not going to raise a fuss for 20, 30 or even 50 dollars… Plus, they deliberately made the process non transparent...

That's why I consider it a racket!...

I have 3 SH radios..always enjoy using them.... and I know now for sure I made a great purchase!!!!
