I had a Raychart 420 installed before I upgraded recently to their SL72RC (radar/gps combo unit). Overall I was very pleased with the 420.. nice compact unit good display. GI would have kept it if the price I was able to get the new unit for were not so attractive. The 420 got me home every time from offshore. I did not have any problems with the 420 except user caused errors while learning the unit.

I thought overall it was a good value for the money.

I've got the SL72RC as well and I'm looking to sell the display as I want to switch to the C-80. I was asking $950 but will consider offers.

Default RE: raychart 520

We had a 520 and sold it on fleabay in order to upgrade to a large color unit.

The 520 was a solid unit and I wish we kept it for our 2nd station. I recall I only got a couple hundred bucks for it.

Our only problem was that when using it in split screen (chart on top and steering indicator on the bottom) the chart was just too small to make out. Even with a RL80 I have bought a old 320 to use just for steering indicator while being able to leave the big screen in full screen mode. I will probably try to pick up another 320 to use on the tower next yr.
