I've got a RayNav 300 and C120 installed, each with its own antenna but connected to each other through SeaTalk. I keep the RN300 in repeater mode, which effectively keeps its antenna in standby while displaying the exact data that the C120/Raystar 120 shows. Gives me redundant displays and a backup GPS in case the C120 fails, I set the RN300 to master mode so it starts reading its own antenna and I can find home.
Now I want to interface my Icom 402 with GPS input. I would prefer to do this from the RN300 instead of the C120 so I can take advantage of the redundant GPS setup. Problem is, the RN300 only has a single port called "PWR/NMEA", which is occupied by the power input. So two questions:
1) Is the NMEA cable some kind of split configuration with one lead that goes to the power supply and the other going to a NMEA device such as the Icom 402?
2) Will the RN300 send data throught the NMEA cable if it is in repeater mode and only displaying the C120 data?
Thanks!
