Default Furuno to Autopilot nema question

I am trying to wire up a furuno 1753C to a tr-1, the furuno instructions say that pins 1 & 2 on data port 2 are the inputs for the heading sensor but the wiring diagram has them as nema outs. I am using a garmin 2010c for the primary input to the tr-1 and would like to use the gps on the furuno for the secondary gps input on the tr-1 but am not sure of the connections as stated above.

Second question...the garmin I believe uses the boats ground for the nema wires, will hooking up the nema + wire suffice for the tr-1 and the furuno if those units are internally grounded. Thanks for any and all help. Must say it is making me a bit crazy

Bill

I use a 2010C to supply all the outgoing nav data for my vhf, radar and smartcraft - I have the nema plus from the gps feeding all 3 of the plus wires of the receiving units and the minus wires of the receiving units going to the boat ground. Everything works great.

I don't have a 1723 manual here, but if it is a 7" monitor and you only have 3 data ports then I think you can control what they do in software. The 10" ones have 4 connections and are stuck, but I think you can change yours in "PORT SETUP"

Thanks William, I'll check it out in the manual, haven't turned the unit on yet so I didn't get that far in the manual.
