Default Help with P-66

I had my P-66 transducer sitting on the workbench with the housing just sitting in the bracket and my friend who just happened to be fondling it, snapped the thing shut. How do I get it apart so I can mount the bracket. I put a screwdriver in the beveled sides and tried to smack it open but to no avail. HELP, GOING OUT IN THE MORNING!!!

There should be a plastic piece that you push in to open it up.

At the top hinge there is but at the bottom it snaps in and will only open when it hits something. I can't get anything to hold the bracket still enough to hit it. I'll keep trying but I dont want to crack the housing.

You have to pry it open a little with a screwdirver where it snaps in on the bottom.. Make sure the top lock is in the open position first. You may need a second person to hold it down. I've done it a few times but it was on the transom.

There is a large "tab" at the bottom that needs to be pryed down to unlatch her. It's a bear to do. As for the top part where the 2 "pins" snap in, I couldn't do it.

I drilled my holes with the transducer still mounted.

Yes, that is it. The top hinge wasn't the problem, it was the bottom snap that was. Since it wasn't attached to the transom, I had a hard time getting leverage to open it up. Acouple of screwdrivers and I wedged it in a hole at my workbench and then just hit the bottom of the housing pretty hard. Popped right open. Big lesson learned here. Thanks for the help
