Sonar Operations on a Lowrance LCX-15mt.

I need help with the sonar operations on a Lowrance LCX-15mt.

I am new to the GPS operations on this unit. I originally got this unit without GPS and then added GPS the unit the first of this year.

I was out on the lake most of the day Friday. The unit worked great all morning. I had the split screen operating, GPS on the left and sonar on the right. I was zooming in the GPS screen when the sonar screen locked up. The sonar went to a 0 -100 ft depth scale on the right hand side of the sonar screen and stayed. The depth readout (in the upper left corner) flashed the last depth setting and would not change. Also, the 2x and 4x bars on the right side of the sonar screen went to top of the screen and would not move. I went through all the connections, all the screens on the menu, and checked the transducer. I then started through the screens again and the sonar stared working. Once again I started to zoom in the GPS screen and the sonar screen locked up again.

Can anyone help?

I have the LCX 15CI, color version the same as yours. I have not been on my boat since Novemeber, but I think I remember. There is a way to toggle between the screens while in split screen mode. Try hitting the "page" button twice (like double clicking a mouse). That should let you jump from the GPS window to the fish finder window.

Have you tried to update the firmware from the Lowrance website? I have the same unit and have updated it several times since purchse last year.

Ditto Mike, do the update, you have old software/firmware/underwear, something wear........
