Default Best inexpensive, color GPS/Fishfinder....?

I am looking to upgrade my older Humminbird black and white gps/fishfinder unit with a color one that will take a navionics or hotspots chip. I am looking seriously at the new Lowrance Elite 4 unit. I know its pretty small, but I have a pretty small boat. Do you guys have any other suggestions in the $300-350 price range?

used. garmin 441s is good, but closer to $400 i think. see if you can get a steal on a lowrance HDS5 as the gen1 are discontinued. some places had them for crazy prices. look for pre loaded charts, usually a decent savings over chip. navionics gold chip is $150.

I have had great luck with my Garmin 440s (the older version of the 441s). The screen is small but that has never been a problem for me. I am adding a second Garmin 441s this year, i will now have one at each helm on my boat.

I have had reliability issues with Lowrance equip. and don't plan to use them in the future. My Garmin and Humminbird stuff have worked well.

I've had a Garmin (498) on my old boat and have a Humminbird 587 ci on my Waverunner.

Both are smaller units and both have work/ed very well. Neither were in the range of $$ you are wanting to spend. You may want to consider upping the budget a bit if you can afford it.
