Default Installing electronics on a 2100 Sea Pro bayboat

I need to put a VHF and a Garmin 182c on the above boat. I'm sure I can mount everything correctly, but I'm mentally challenged when it come to wiring. Is it difficult or should I give a call to a pro?

Most connections are plug and play ... battery hook is the only issue ... and antenna and ducers will have special connectors

you can doit!!!!!!

Its not bad, just take your time and do it right. For the Garmin, hook up the power (red & black) using heat shrink connectors. Beneath your dash there should be some kind of power strip. Go there. Make sure you leave the inline fuse on the Garmin cable. For the vhf I would go directly to the power source (battery) and skip the strip. The reason is less links that can go wrong. If you lose power to the strip, no vhf, plain and simple. Is your vhf DSC capable? If so, hook up the blue wire from the Garmin power cable to the input wire on the vhf. Then you need to tell the Garmin in the menu setup (nmea in nmea out) Let me know what vhf and I can tell you what wires to hook up. For installing the vhf antenna. Do not half a66 the (pl259) connector that goes on the back of the radio and on the antenna. If you know how to solder that is the best way. If not, Shakespeare makes some that are crimp type and work very well. When you are under neath the dash it also cannot hurt to spray some corrosion block on all your connections. If you get confused or more questions let us know. We are here for ya!
