Default Is E-Bay a good place to move my used electronics?

We have purchased a few things with good results but never sold anything.

Ebay just raised their rates for sellers as did paypal. You can expect to loose 7% of your profits to them. I stoped useing Ebay just for that reason....

I have sold two marine electronics items, one of which being what I regarded as a total piece of cr*p Lowrance fishfinder/GPS combo unit. It came off a used boat. To my utter astonishment, this thing generated a frenzy of bids and sold for 95% of what you could pay for a new one with a little searching. People in the midwest would rather have one of these things than a Furuno FCV1100 for their bass boat.

So I would try the trading dock for a while, but eBay does reach a hige audience that may include people who have a deep desire to buy what you have.

I put a loran on e-bay once, sold it & the buyer later informed me it wouldn't operate correctly. I apologized (I thought I checked it out completely but it turned out there was a problem) & returned his money. I then relisted it as a broken loran & it SOLD FOR MORE!!! Go figure. They get into a bidding frenzy on e-bay like a school of bluefish on a ball of bait!

Lowrance is indeed living off of their past image. Living in the Midwest I can tell you a large part of the "problem" is that we don't have Furuno and Raymarine readily available. Maybe at West Marine, but most people in this area are buying their marine electronics at Gander Mountain and Bass Pro Shops.

I'd try listing the stuff here first, then put it on Ebay.

I would use eBay. I'm an eBay junkie (mostly selling) and you wouldn't believe what I have been paid for most of my items! I'm not complaining!
