Default Best Fishfinder under $1000.00?

I am looking for a good finder for under $1000.00
Requirments.

Largest screen for the money
Easy to use

Space/depth is not an issue.

This Lorance looked pretty nice (HDS-5X)

uhhh . . . . that's a mere 5" unit--you said largest screen, correct?

what do you have for a plotter that takes a FF/BBox? RM, Furuno, new Garmin, and standard Horizon make BBox FF's which are around $5-600 plus add xducer. Most of the BBox are a very good quality FF and you can utilize your "large" screen plotter.

If you don't have a large screen plotter or want a stand alone FF, Furuno 620--6" screen (600 watts) with an xducer will be close to $1000 or find a 582L (7" screen).

Here's another option, consider used equipment. You could relatively easily find a Furuno VX1 system with a 10" screen and a BBox FF for around your budget. You'd get a nice big screen and a very good FF provided you add a nice xducer. Add a GPS sensor and you'd have a good back-up plotter to boot.

You can also get a HDS-7 within your buget. Excellent fishfinder with a 6.4" screen. HDS-7 is a combo unit so you will then also have a backup gps/plotter.

This is what I am considering.

The unit for my parents skiff, 22' Robalo. It has an older Sitex up and down and a Garmin gps. Figure their gear is worth $200-$300 total.

I think i tmight be easier for them with an all in one unit.

Thanks for all advise.
