Best Color Finder for under $1000

Sold my Parker 21 SE with all electronics. Starting over on a new 23 SE with new stuff. Decided on everything but the fish finder. The boat is basically open but does have an electronics cabinet. All Parker SE's pound if pushed hard enough in the slop.

Leaning towards a Furuno 600L. I have a preference for Lowrance in black and white units. Lowrance is coming on strong with color now, but not sure they can match Furuno.

Would like to hear what others recommend and why, if possible. Does anyone know if the Furuno 600L transducer will provide a depth reading at 40 MPH? õ
