Default Garmin nema out to Raymarine Sl72 and Icom

I have a Garmin 182 Chart plotter and want to connect the nmea output to a SL72 Raymarine Radar and ICom 402S. It looks as if Garmin uses the battery ground for nmea output (-) so do I connect the Garmin 182 nema out (+) to the (+) Nmea inputs on the Ray SL72 and Icom 402 and connect the Nmea (-) inputs on the Sl72 and ICom to the battery ground??? Something doesn't seem right with this but I am confused anyway

Thanks
