Default What kind of fish finder should I get???

I am looking for a good quality fish finder but it needs to be somewhat small so that it can fit in the glove box next to my VHF radio. My boat is a 2003 Hydra Sports 212. Agian, looking for something small but of good quality. Mostly I really need it for depth readings and not looking for the fish.

Thanks!

When you say small I suppose what you mean is not tall. Most boxes can handel wide machines, just not tall ones. So, how much room do you really have? There are machines that use landscape presentation that are not as tall as the more conventional portrait presentation. Also, limited space tends to lead people towards combined units, some of which are wider than they are tall. Right off hand I'm thinking about something like a 2006 or 2006C using the depth finder module. The total height of the thing on its mount is only about 7 inches but you still get over a 7" screen out of the deal.

Actually, it is the width that is the problem. I want to put both my vhf and a fish finder in the glove box. However with the vhf and the Garmin 160 blue the total lenght of the vhf and Garmin 160 was longer then the glove box.

So what I am thinking of is the vhf and the Garmin 100 Blue. This will fit great and I will still get depth and water temp from the 100 blue. It is a smaller screen the the 160 but I will still be able to see the dips and valley's of the ocean floor and get the depth and h2o temp which is exactly what I was looking for.

As for the GPS I am getting a Garmin 176C so that it can be mounted using suction cups on the CC window and plugged into our 12v cigarett lighter so that will be totally portable. I think this will work out perfectly!
