Default Antenna Sale at West Marine

FYI...picked up an 8' Shakespeare Galaxy antenna today at West Marine, and they were 33% off! Sale includes mounts, but I didn't need one. So, if you are looking to buy an antenna, you can save some $$$ this weekend at West. My antenna usually runs $99.99, I got it for $67!

I'll bet they are having a sale.

Good old Randy Repass is trying to drum up some business after all of us recreational anglers (who happen to be catching more fish than the commercial fishermen in Florida according to the nimrods at The Ocean Conservancy) are deciding to boycott his store.

Basically West Marine is supporting The Ocean Conservancy, an organization that is trying to severely restrict and ultimately do away with recreational fishing.

If you're interested, check this out:

And Randy Repass, Founder of West Marine's reply:

Let him know what you think . . . I did.

work2fish-we are doing the same thing out here on the west coast. all the online forums and fishing websites are calling for a west marine boycott, till the situation is resolved. let west marine have all the sales they want, but powerboaters and fisherman are the biggest part of their business. don't buy from west marine at the present time. our west coast fishing is really on the line!!!!

I'm in! I am going to try to avoid West Marine altogether from now on.

I love to fish, and I am not going to let these people take take it away from me...

I have another problem with West Marine, PRICING ! They are expensive ! I realize they will price match, but if you don't do your homework (cut an add, etc) with these guys you are probably paying too much. This is the classic "how much does it cost" VS. "how much will you pay", it doesn't fly in sales. Offer a good price upfront ...
