Garmin 188c display screen vrs 320 FF screen size

unfortunately the color screen on the 188c is 5" diagnal, blk/white is 5.5" diagnal. They use a filler to use the same case with the smaller color screen. The 188c has a new metal gimbal mount instead of the plastic base. I see both still pictured. NOTE: I see the new 320 color fish finder with the same housing as the 188c WITHOUT the filler shown, even though they still advertise it as 5" diagnal. Need to see it at a store to make sure. If true, this tells me they will change the 188c color display to a 5.5 diagnal. Hate to buy now, if it could change. Would like the larger screen. Anyone have any feedback??? Called Garmin and they have no clue!!!!

I would NOT rely on the product picture on the Garmin site (much less anywhere else) to determine screen size and whether they are using a filler or not. The product picture does not show the actual screen, but rather a screen composited on top of the housing with Photoshop. Some marketing guy did that, and I would doubt that they were paying close attention to the specs.
