Marine radar as weather station? Wouldn't work very well and you'd tire of it quickly as a result.
Last summer my wife and I were at a campground in NC when some nasty storms were blowing through. Just for the pure unadulterated hell of it I flipped the radar on, a 24 mile 2-kW Raythone unit, and watched the storms come rolling in. We could watch them to the full range but the image was basically worthless (solid black) out past about 16 miles or so. What was more interesting to watch was the formation and disapation of the cells within just a couple of miles. You could watch them birth, grow, shrink, and then die out, but you couldn't do it for long nor far away. Anyway after about 15 minutes it was over - not the storms, just my interest in looking at black blobs on a screen. I wouldn't spend the time or money for connectors to have acess to it all the time.
