Default Compatible with Lowrance LCX-18c and Lowrance HDS Series

Ok, I need to get a transducer and external GPS antenna that is compatible with both the Lowrance LCX-18c and Lowrance HDS Series. Yes, I realize that the HDS series does not "require" an external antenna.

As far as the transducer I would prefer a shoot thru 50/200kHz.

Thanks for everyone's help.

If going to a shoot thru the the AIRMAR P79 (Same as the P66) is the entry level unit but is not easily configured in a Lowrance plug .
The next level is the M260-Bl and is compatible with the LCX and HDS series.
(But, Lowrance units are not the best choices for "shoot thru " the hull transducers.)

If you choose to go thru the hull or transom you have wide choice depending on your fishing conditions and depths.
How deep and what do you fish for ?

The GPs antennas for lowrance:

LGC-12W (Lowrance part number 112-06)
Fits many units including LCX- 15mt,15ci,15ct,16ci,18c,19c,104c.

LGC-4000
NMEA 2000 GPS WAAS antenna with 5 htz update map rate.
Fits all HDS units.

This might also work:
AIRMAR G2183
Fits all NMEA 0183 and NMEA 2000 instruments to provide Lat, long, COG, SOG, time and date, magnetic variation and satellite status.AIRMAR might be able to provide a Lowrance cable option.

Ok, I understand your comments on the transducer. However, if I read between the lines, there isn't a GPS antenna that is compatible with both units. Right?

Thanks and Semper Fi

[The LCX15 uses a LGC12W antenna. You could network that to an HDS to share the GPS signal but there just wouldn't be much point in doing that.
(NMEA 0183)

Good luck with your project!![/quote]

One last question and I'll let this thread die. I was told that the older lcx15 could actually use the Garmin GPS 16 HVS antenna. Any truth to that? (significantly cheaper than the lowrance antennas.)
