Default Garmin 182C NMEA 0183 download

Has anyone had the experience of downloading WPs from their computer to their Garmin 182? E-mailed Garmin who said it was possible but no details came with the response. The manual is silent on the subject although the pigtail has NMEA input wiring. This is a Bluechart unit and not a computer uploaded map type unit. Plan to fire it up on the work bench and check out software options not listed in the manual. Any thoughts. (I currently use NMEA to download to my RL70 but its manual gives specific instructions.)
Thanks
Joe

I agree T T. I have been using GPSU 4.04 to upload and downloat waypoints to the 182C and it works just fine.

Default Garmin 182C NMEA 0183 download

Thanks guys,
Some good references there. I was able to download directley from C-Map PC Planner with a little trial and error on the Garmin end. Have to go to "comm" on the menu and set both ports to NMEA at 4000 baud to download. Guess if I e-mailed enough questions to Garmin they would have told me that. The little Garmin 182 has a number of features that they don't explain in the manual. Guess the hardware development outran the paperwork?
Thanks again for the links.
Joe
