Default Does anyone still use a paper graph

WHile I am on the subject of fish finders I thought I would ask this one.
I have any "old" Eagle Mach 1 paper graph on my small boat, which i have not used a in couple of years, that works great. I have plenty of paper, stylus and etc and thought about mounting this on my CC for a little different detail(mostly stripers so detail can be very important) for fishing or would this be a waste of time.(i have the room on my console ).
I have seen some of our local striper fisherman that still use the paper graphs after locating and area with a LCD.

Paper graphs were the tops for their time and they still sell paper rolls, at least for some paper graphs. I believe it is much the same as roll fax paper.

Anyway, if I still had my old Lowrance grah and paper laying around, and a stylus that still burned, I would be using it right now on my brother's boat. What do you have to lose but the price of the rolls and the gelcoat patch?

I have a Lowrance X-16 "Computer Graph" unit and Iuse it whenever I'm not sure what my LCD is showing me. That paper graph has a resolution equivalent to 4000 vertical "pixels" which AFAIK no other unit can match. I know they are still in demand on the west coast.

If anyone is interested the X-16 graph unit is for sale with a high-speed transom-mount transducer that's been used only in fresh water here in Ontario. It comes with 10 single rolls of original Lowrance paper (enough for two years!) and spare belt and other parts. I'm asking $250.00. And I have another 25 double rolls of Lowrance paper c/w new pens also available for $10.00 each.

I've got a Lowrance X-1550 in perfectly good condition sitting in my garage gathering dust. High speed 50 Khz transducer included. Transducer cable has been cut--you'll have to splice. Make offer! I won't be using it ever again.

Man, paper graphs are under-rated. Used to be, you could look at the graph for where you were fishing and get a lot of valuable info. for your next trip. I miss that.

If the beer don't taste like fish, you ain't doin' it right.
