Default Bronze thru-hull ducer and fairing block install question

Can someone provide the general details of installing this on a typical fiberglass hull with single outboard. This is not a cored hull. Thanks.

Default Bronze thru-hull ducer and fairing block install question

Ned,
Some great information on the www.airmar.com site including downloadable pdf files for instructions on how to mount etc.

http://www.airmar.com/install/install_index.html

Apparently Airmar makes most of the transducers for the marine industry. Learned that from someone on this site a few weeks ago.

Good Luck,
Steve

Default Bronze thru-hull ducer and fairing block install question

Ned, I installed an airmar thru hull and a high speed flaring block for my 600L. What a difference. My advice is to measure three times because you have one chance at cutting the flaring block to the dead rise of your hull. I practiced on a piece of wood that was the same lenght, width, and height first. I marked bow, stern, port and starboard on my peice of practice wood. Then you can check your handy work. Also you and use the piece of wood to drill the hole in the hull. If you are running a single engine, stay at least a foot away from the keel. Don't place it in-line with the motor. Hope this helped. Tom
