Default Major feedback / interference

I am having a serious problem with feedback from power steering mechanism and my speakers... brand new Venture 34 with Fusion speakers in hard top and each time I move the helm wheel the high pitched sound shows up. If I turn off stereo, its gone.... Anyone have this problems? any solutions?

Many Thanks

Sounds like the system is picking up Interference from the Power Steering pump. Check to make sure that the Stereo Power Wires, Speaker Wires and Antenna Wires are no where near the power steering pump. Should be at least 12" away and not tie wraped to the power cables that feed the power steering pump. Start with a visual inspections of where all the wires are routed

Unfortunately they we're all wired tight together.. I am going to first try a filter but it looks like there will be a re wire job in the works...

Anyone have an opinion on JL speakers over Fusion? Coax vs component???

I have 6 Fusion speakers installed... two under hard top fore and aft and two up front under gunnel pointed back at helm....

thanks

I have a complete Fusion 3 zone system. I love the fusion stereo, amp, and remote controls. I have the speakers just average at best. Go with the JL speakers, I hear good things about them.

Not sure what you mean by coax vs. component. If you are talking picture quality from the DVD player, definitely go with component, much better picture.

Good luck with the filter, I have never really had those work for me. Let us know how it turns out.

I've seen this probably pretty often. My guess is the pump and stereo are wired to the same power source. Move the pump or stereo to a different power supply and it should fix the problem
