Any comments on either of these units?

We use the 176C in the Donzi. It is hard to read bouncing around at 81.3 MPH but when we slow down it is much more useful. The screen is a bit small for all the info it provides, but the user interface, and detail of the charts is awesome. Definite thumbs up from me. If I had room for a bigger screen I might get that over the smaller color one though.

I use this unit and love it. The color is awesome and I would definitely reccommend getting the Bluchart CD ROM and a 32mb or higher data card. Having channels marked and being able to see color buoys on the screen is really helpful. I would get the CD ROM and the blank data card instead of the bluchart chip. With the CD ROM you can view the charts on your pc and plot routes.

Like yahtjim, my only complaint is that the unit vibrates, making the screen hard to read when your running. It seems that the mounting bracket could be a little sturdier. I've also had my power cable work loose from the unit shaking and vibrating...and I'm not running 80mph, only about 30 in a 19' cc.

I've had mine almost two years and love it. The detail is excellant and so far accurate. I've loaded the upgates from Garmin who has to be one of the really good service companies around. I have the chip but intend to get the CD soon.
