Default Internal Antenna ???

What are your thoughts with a GPS unit with a built in antenna ? How well will they work with a T-Top ? Better or worse than external antenna ?

THanks guys. Might go to a internal when I upgrade to a newer GPS. With my setup, it is a major pain to get another antenna cable from the top down the ttop leg and in to the console.

If the top is made of non-conductive material, i.e., fabric or 'glass like most tops, you'll have no problems whatsoever.

I mounted my external antenna on top of my console in front of the helm (after replacing the original t-top mounted antenna) and could not detect any change in GPS performance.

I ran 3 different GPS's in my Scarab Sport w/ T-Top all of them had internal antenna's and they all worked just fine.

Sweet, Thanks for the input. Glad to hear this. Probably go with an internal or mount external antenna on console instead of on top. Will be a MUCH simiplier upgrade.
