Default standard horizon cp500 chartplotter

hello, i ran across your great forum and it looks like maybe you can help me.
i am looking for a chartplotter and am not sure what to buy. i am looking at the cp500 and it looks nice but i am not sure if it the write one. can it be used with nmea 2000? i would like to have one that combines gps with fuel flow. what charts come with the cp500 i know it has cartridges you buy are they needed or just a enhancement?
if this is not the write one what about a northstar 567 would i be better with a cp 500 and a seprate fuel flow system? ifso what is the best. any hep given would be great.
thanks sam

Wellcome aboard matey..........

I used a CP500 all Last summer on my boat and found it to be an excellent chartplotter with great value. I also had the FF520 installed and it also was an excellent unit for accurately marking fish with good detail.
For Charts you would need to purchase an C-Map for your location. In my opinion C-maps are the best. There is a base map installed but it has no detail at all.

Standard Horizon has an excellent reputation and their customer service is 2nd to none

The bad news is it is not nmea 2000 or does it have any fuel flow capabilities.

Price wise compared to other 12" plotters you sure would have funds left over to add a stand alone fuel flow sensor.

The Garmin 4212 ia also a 12" plotter which IS N2k and has the ability to show fuel flow and other info such as MPG, fuel used, fuel remaining ect. but cost almost double.

Dollar for Dollar the CP500 is a great plotter

It does 0183 and YES - the CP500 is an excellant product, fanstatic support and a 3 year warranty the last I saw.
