Default Mixing Garmin GPS with Transducer from Raytheon

Just curious, I have a Garmin 2006c and currently an older Raytheon Fishfinder (50/200Mhz). Can I get the GDS20 device for the Garmin and attach it to the current transducer or does it have to be specific for this unit?

The main reason for considering this is that the Raytheon is older color technology and the display is not very easy to read in daylight. I was wondering if I could get out of this for the price of the GDS20.

call Airmar and ask. Some of the fishfinders have different impedences, but likely it will work...with a wiring change to the right plug. Wiring diagrams are on the Airmar web site. Of course you will need a Garmin plug to attach to. You can either buy a real inexpensive garmin transducer and cut the wire to get a useable plug...or maybe Garmin will send you one.

Good luck.
